Dimension and technique | The artwork consists of a single panel of paper measuring 86.5 cm x 81.5 cm, constructed by assembling A4 sheets into a cohesive whole. This articulated base, made of united fragments, reflects the idea of interconnectedness and the construction of a unified entity from independent parts. The piece was created using 'Nanquin' and markers, materials that provide contrast and fluidity, enhancing the visual interactions between lines and dots.

Inspiration | The creation was inspired by the experience at the Boom Festival 2022 (Portugal), the first edition after the 2020 pandemic. With the theme "Anthropocene," the festival provoked deep reflections on the relationship between humanity and nature, particularly in the context of a confined and communal environment. During seven days immersed in a multicultural camping setting, the understanding of human interdependence and the impact of shared systems — such as water, bathrooms, kitchens, and waste management — on daily life became evident.

The hottest days, marked by water scarcity, emphasized how this resource connects us all as a vital and universal link. The experience revealed the fragility and beauty of human coexistence, reinforcing the need for respect, collaboration, and empathy.

Visual concept | The concept of Ubuntu — "I am because we are" — served as the philosophical foundation for the visual interactions in the artwork. Dynamic lines and dispersed yet connected dots symbolize the web of human, environmental, and social relationships that sustain collective existence. The juxtaposition of order and chaos suggests both the challenges and the harmony achievable in cohabitation and the management of shared resources.

This artwork invites reflection on the interdependence that defines the human condition, highlighting water as a metaphor for the necessity of collaboration and mutual care. At the same time, it celebrates the diversity of cultures and perspectives that, even under adverse circumstances, can meet and create new ways of living together. Year of Production: 2022-2023.

Dimensões e Técnica | A obra é composta por um painel único de papel medindo 86,5 cm x 81,5 cm, construído a partir da colagem de folhas A4. Esta base articulada, feita de fragmentos unidos, reflete a ideia de interconexão e a construção de um todo a partir de partes independentes. Para a execução, foram utilizados nanquim e marcadores, materiais que proporcionam contraste e fluidez, acentuando as interações visuais entre as linhas e os pontos.

Inspiração |  A criação foi inspirada pela experiência vivida no Boom Festival de 2022 (Portugal), o primeiro após a pandemia de 2020. Os dias mais quentes, marcados pela escassez de água, ressaltaram como esse recurso conecta a todos, sendo um elo vital e universal. A experiência revelou a fragilidade e a beleza da coexistência humana, reforçando a necessidade de respeito, colaboração e empatia.

Conceito Visual | O conceito de Ubuntu — "Eu sou porque nós somos" — foi o alicerce filosófico para as interações visuais presentes na obra. Linhas dinâmicas e pontos dispersos e conectados simbolizam a rede de relações humanas, ambientais e sociais que sustentam a existência coletiva. A justaposição entre ordem e caos sugere tanto os desafios quanto a harmonia possível no convívio e na gestão dos recursos comuns.

Esta obra é um convite à reflexão sobre a interdependência que define a condição humana, destacando a água como metáfora para a necessidade de colaboração e cuidado mútuo. Ao mesmo tempo, celebra a diversidade de culturas e perspectivas que, mesmo em circunstâncias adversas, podem se encontrar e criar novas formas de convivência. Ano de produção: 2022-2023.​​​
